Water is one of those things you don’t think much about until you stop and look at how often your pet uses it.
They drink it throughout the day. They come into contact with it during baths. And when they’re spending several hours at daycare or staying overnight, the water around them becomes part of their everyday experience.
At Wags 2 Whiskers, water is one of the details we’ve chosen to pay attention to.
Why We Use Reverse Osmosis Water
At Wags 2 Whiskers, we use reverse osmosis (RO) water for drinking and bathing throughout the shop.
Reverse osmosis is a filtration process that pushes water through a very fine membrane. It helps reduce many dissolved substances and impurities that can be present in water, including certain minerals and other contaminants.
For us, one of the benefits is consistency. We’re starting with highly filtered water whether a pet is drinking it during their visit or we’re using it for their bath.
We don’t see RO water as a cure-all or something that needs to be marketed with big claims. It’s simply one more way we can be intentional about the environment we’re creating for pets.
What That Means for Drinking Water
Dogs and cats need access to water throughout their time with us.
During daycare, pets can drink water throughout the day as they move between play, enrichment, and rest. The same applies to boarding, where pets are with us for a longer period of time.
Using RO water means the drinking water we provide has gone through an additional filtration process to reduce many dissolved impurities.
It’s a small part of their daily routine, but it’s something they use every day they’re here.
What That Means for Bathing

RO water also matters in the Pet Spa.
When water contains higher levels of minerals, those minerals can contribute to buildup and water spots on surfaces. Using highly filtered water gives us a cleaner starting point for the bathing process.
For the pet, that means the bath isn’t just about the products we use. The water itself is part of the process.
Our Wellness Wash uses RO water, gentle products, and a conditioner finish on every dog and cat.
Water Is Part of Grooming, Too
The bath is more than simply getting a pet wet and rinsing them off.
Water is used throughout the washing process, from getting the coat thoroughly wet to rinsing away shampoo and finishing the bath.
At W2W, we pair RO water with gentle products and a conditioner finish as part of every Wellness Wash.
For pet parents who want additional hands-on care, The Works is a $50 add-on. It includes conditioner, shampoo, conditioner again, plus lymphatic massage, teeth brushing, nail grinding, a deshed or demat block, and a slicker finish.
Why We Pay Attention to the Details
Pet care is made up of a lot of ordinary things.
Clean spaces. A place to rest. Time to play. Good handling. Fresh water.
None of these things necessarily feels like a major feature on its own. But when you put them together, they shape what a pet experiences while they’re with us.
That’s the thinking behind our approach at W2W. We look at the everyday parts of care, not just the service someone has booked.
From Daycare to Pet Spa
Whether your pet is spending the day with us, staying overnight, or coming in for a bath, water is part of their visit.
Our dogs and cats have access to RO drinking water during their time with us, and RO water is also used for bathing throughout the shop.
It’s one of the quieter details of our environment, but it’s there every day.
Care Starts With the Basics

We believe good pet care isn’t always about adding more.
Sometimes it’s about paying attention to the things pets experience over and over again.
Water is one of those things.
At Wags 2 Whiskers, using reverse osmosis water for drinking and bathing is one part of how we approach pet care. It’s about starting with carefully filtered water and being intentional about the everyday details of a pet’s visit.
